Harvest and Light is a unique combination of photo gallery and small-batch picklery. It is also the only tasting house in the Huon, showcasing a wide range of Tasmanian wine, spirits, cider and craft beer. The picklery sources and preserves the best of local, seasonal fruit and vegetables. You can choose to sit and enjoy a grazing platter highlighting the preserves made and sold on-site or enjoy a tasting flight of locally produced wine and spirits. A modest share plate style menu complements both the preserves and the wine sold.

A free, weekly, timed 5km walk/jog/run at 9am every Saturday. Open to all ages and abilities. Organised entirely by volunteers. Friendly and fun. Join in! The course is at Heritage Park, Geeveston on a mixture of concrete paths and grass. There are three laps, ensuring that you pass lots of friendly faces along the way. When you run along the Kermandie River stretch, keep one eye on the river in case one of the resident platypus is out and about! If you'd like your time recorded and are not yet a parkrunner, register in advance at www.parkrun.com.au and save your barcode or print it out. Even if you don't register, you're still very welcome to run or walk with them.

The Geeveston Town Hall Visitor Centre provides a diverse range of information and assistance to visitors to the Huon Valley and the Far South of Tasmania. The visitor centre is located within the Town Hall which can be easily found on Church Street, the main street of Geeveston, less than an hours' drive from Hobart. The visitor centre is housed inside the elegant red brick building, which dates back to the early 1900's and has been featured in ABC TV's fictional series 'Rosehaven'. Once inside, take time to explore the exhibits and displays positioned amongst the large timber beams of the hall which features a gallery and woodworking exhibit on the upper level. The visitor centre and gift shop is easily accessible on the ground floor along with an artist-in-residence studio and a large wood burning stove resembling and industrial furnace. They are open 7 days a week (reduced to 6 days in winter), and the friendly volunteer staff provide a warm welcome, local knowledge and expertise. At the centre, you have access to free WIFI internet and can purchase locally produced artworks, handicrafts, books, maps, guides and souvenirs. They also sell and showcase southern Tasmanian wines, beer, cider and spirits, plus non alcoholic beverages, snacks and preserves.
