Outscape Flinders Island

Located in Whitemark, The Larder at The Flinders Wharf offers a carefully curated range of local meals, drinks, and retail products that showcase the best of Flinders Island. Visitors can pre-order online and select a convenient pickup time when they arrive — the Larder is open by appointment for collection and every Saturday from 9am–12pm for Parkrun mornings. Take-home meals feature island ingredients such as Quoin Beef, wallaby, fresh produce, fish, shellfish, and honey. The Larder also stocks premium Tasmanian and island-made products, including meals by WildPie and Jane Grylls, pantry staples, sourdough, bagels, croissants, sparkling wine, beer, Furneaux Distillery gin and whisky, ice cream, homewares, and island merchandise like Quoin the Label linen and Killiecrankie Yacht Club gear. Whether collecting meals, stocking up on island provisions, or discovering local favourites, The Larder offers a convenient way to experience Flinders Island's food, drink, and lifestyle.

A weekly run (or walk), covering five km along a winding coastal track from Whitemark Wharf and back again. The aim is not to outrun everyone else, but to beat yourself, as each run is timed, and each new week presents you with the opportunity to beat your previous score. People from all levels of fitness are welcome. Though not necessary to participate in the run, in order to be timed it is recommended that you follow the web link and register, so as to receive the unique bar code that will allow you to keep track of your times and results.

On the Whitemark Esplanade, just before the exercise equipment, you'll find an area with a shaded gas BBQ and picnic tables. Available for day use, the gas for the BBQ is generously provided by Flinders Council. While a rainwater tank supplies freshwater for handwashing, bringing your own drinking water is recommended. The beach offers shallow, safe waters, making it an ideal spot for children, especially during mid to high tide when the water warms over the sand. Dogs are welcome, and there's plenty of beach to explore. For those interested in a longer walk, the Bluff Track offers a 5 km return journey along the foreshore, leading to Bluff Road. Spend the evening taking a sunset walk on the beach, building sandcastles, or collecting shells. Keep an eye out for Paper Nautilus Shells, or Argonauta nodosa, which wash ashore between March and June. Fishing enthusiasts can purchase bait at the local pub and try their luck catching squid or trevally off the jetty.
