Deep South Brewing Co. is a must-hit Tassie destination. Just a 15min walk from the Hobart CBD, and just around the corner from the North Hobart restaurant strip. The roomy open warehouse bar and downstairs area is a swathe of concrete floors with a sneak peek of the brewery down the back. The upstairs mezzanine dining area is a moody but warm space overlooking the brewery itself, lit with festoon lighting and heaving with both small and large groups. The menu is extensive and features small plates, Hobart's best pizzas, meaty mains, interesting sides, and desserts, catering for all dietaries. Their beers are all named after islands off the southern coast of Tassie, focusing on easy-drinking American and European-style beers. With 12 rotating taps, there's always something new to try.

The Maria Island Walk is a multi-day, multi-award-winning guided walk, located off the east coast of Tasmania. An incredible blend of rare wildlife, breathtaking scenery and world heritage listed convict history. Celebrating its 20th walking season, the island has been referenced as the Noah's Ark of Tasmania for its variety of wildlife including Tasmanian devils, wombats and a variety of rare kangaroos and wallabies. Walk pristine untouched beaches with crystal clear waters, magnificent peaks that will take your breath away, and through magnificent forests of magnificent blue and white gums. The island's tranquility combined with its natural beauty, wildlife and fascinating history makes it a unique and special place. Explore the island by day, and spend the night under the stars in exclusive bush camps for a true nature immersion. The four-day walk runs from January to April, and October to December. During the winter months of June to August, a shorter three-day 'Winter Escape Walk' experience is offered, with accommodation each evening in the historic Bernacchi House at Darlington for a cosy place to stay. There's much to love about a winter experience on The Maria Island Walk's newly-introduced 'Winter Escape Walk', a shorter experience than its traditional offering held over two nights and three days. In small groups of up to 8 guests only, start the day with a glorious sunrise summit walk, watching the sun's rays touch the island. Spend leisurely days discovering Maria's beauty, and learning more about its world heritage listed convict history. Spot the wombats, Tasmanian devils, Cape Barren geese, kangaroos and other abundant wildlife that is largely undisturbed and even more accessible during winter. Evenings are spent in cosy comfort at Bernacchi House in Darlington. Enjoy a social, hosted dinner in the historic house, with a three-course feast hand-prepared to showcase the best of local produce paired with fine Tasmanian wines.
