Immerse yourself in the world of paper at Creative Paper Tasmania — a hands-on, creative experience that offers a genuine insight into the art of papermaking. Join a 30-minute guided papermaking tour and go behind the scenes of Australia's largest handmade paper mill. The tour is fully hands-on, with visitors actively involved in making sheets of handmade paper while learning about traditional techniques and the sustainable fibres like recycled cotton, hemp and even apples, native leaves, wombat poo and many more used in the process. Explore an extensive display of life-size paper mâché sculptures, featuring the largest collection by artists Pam Thorne and Ruth Rees. The experience also includes a gallery showcasing handmade papers and local artworks, along with an on-site gift shop offering a range of distinctive, handcrafted paper products.
