Artisans are masters of their craft. With their hands and tools of the trade, they work to create pieces that showcase the obsession they have for their material of choice. For Simon, it is all about leather. He first learned leatherwork in high school and started making whips as a hobby. People loved his work and Simon soon realised that he could turn his passion into a way of life. From stock whips to saddles, there is a tradition and pride that comes to life in what they make which they enjoy sharing. Theirs is more than a store, it's a gateway into country life. While visiting Simon Martin Whips & Leathercraft you can learn about the work that goes into crafting up to 48 strands of leather and browse a collection of whips from all over the world. Keep your children busy at the leatherwork bench, making their own coaster or keyring, while you spend time browsing the retail store or watching what is being made. The retail shop offers a range of products which includes well known brands R.M.Williams, Akubra Hats, Redback Boots, Leatherman & Swanndri. Kids can even make their own keyring or leather coaster. Don't miss this unique experience while in Tasmania. Closed Weekends, Public Holidays and three weeks over the Christmas period.
