The view of Cradle Mountain with Dove Lake in the foreground is one of the most famous vistas in the Australian wilderness. The Dove Lake Kayak allows you to immerse yourself in that vista while paddling beautiful hand built King Billy pine kayaks. We spend approximately two hours traversing the lake, learning about the natural and cultural history of the area while passing well-known sites including Glacier Rock, Honeymoon Island, the Ballroom Forest and the boat shed. At the southern end of the lake, with the spires of Cradle Mountain towering overhead, we stop on a beach for a snack. We’ll also hunt around for a living King Billy.
