Wilderness, Wildlife and Waterfalls. Immerse yourself on this amazing tour. As we leave Hobart and follow the Derwent River into the Derwent Valley, passing through the hop-fields of Bushy Park we arrive at the Salmon Ponds. Explore the oldest trout hatchery in the Southern Hemisphere. Feed the trout and salmon, visit the museum and Angling Hall of Fame, wander amidst the historic buildings, hatchery and fishponds, all within an original English parkland setting. Enjoy a morning tea of pancakes and hot drink in the tea rooms whilst over-looking the tranquil surrounds. Arriving at Mt Field National Park, witness the spectacular Russell Falls. Tasmania's favourite waterfall. Walk through a canopy of rain forest and fern glades to view crystal-clear waters and the spectacle that is Russell Falls. Enjoy a number of other short walks including Horseshoe Falls or just relax and take in the fresh rainforest air. Lunch (at own expense) can be enjoyed in the park before heading off towards Bonorong. Arriving at Bonorong, get ready for your up-close encounter with the iconic Tasmanian Devil and other Native animals. This is an amazing opportunity to learn more about our unique wildlife and perhaps hand feed the animals that roam free.
